Dr. Craig Wansink Presents
"Nevertheless, They Persisted: How Three Defiant Women Confronted Race in America"

During Black History Month, Dr. Craig Wansink, Professor of Religious Studies and the Joan P. and Macon F. Brock, Jr. Director of the Robert Nusbaum Center, will take a quick look at three 19th century examples—Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Emma Lazarus—and how their spiritualism, atheism, and Judaism brought them to defy racism in the United States. How did they inspire and lead, within their limited sphere of influence, and how might their example shape us?
Mask Up for VWU!

As students return for the spring semester, the VWU community remains committed to creating a healthy and safe environment for each member of the Marlin family. Keeping communities safe takes a collective effort. Wearing a mask is a small action which shows the world you are doing your part to take care of your community. Wearing a Virginia Wesleyan mask shows the world you also care about VWU students and their futures.

Wherever you go, protect others and yourself while showing your support for VWU!  to The Excellence Fund before April 1, you will receive an exclusive Virginia Wesleyan Alumni face mask. The global pandemic has created financial and emotional hardship for many of our students, and your generosity makes it possible for Marlins to pursue their dreams in a safe environment.

Help us spread the word, not the virus, by taking a picture wearing your mask, posting to social media with the hashtag #VWUMaskUp. Thank you for keeping Marlin Nation safe and for investing in our students!
