The countdown to Homecoming & Family Weekend is on! Make plans to join fellow Marlins on campus October 6-7 for a weekend of fall fun and festivities.
The weekend begins with Marlin Spirit Day on Friday, October 6. Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends are invited to sport Marlin gear and decorate workspaces, rooms, cars (even your pets and babies!) in all things Virginia Wesleyan. Don VWU hats, shirts, scarves, etc. and display your VWU mugs, blankets, diplomas and more. Share your Virginia Wesleyan pride and your photos on social media with the hashtag #marlinspiritday.
The 22st Annual VWU Golf Outing at Cypress Point Golf Course is on Friday as well, supporting VWU softball, baseball, and men’s lacrosse. Then, catch up with friends at the annual Marlin Alumni Social on Friday evening at ShoreBreak Pizza & Taphouse on Shore Drive.
Wesleyan traditions continue for the Marlin community with the annual gathering of alumni, parents, students, and friends at Finfest on Saturday, October 7, beginning at 11 a.m. There will be food trucks, live music, and family fun, as well as a special 25th reunion of the Class of 1998. Don’t miss opportunities to cheer on the Marlins in athletic contests and alumni games throughout the day, and celebrate the best of VWU Athletics during the Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday evening.
Events at the Susan S. Goode Fine and Performing Arts Center include the Choral Invitational on Friday and the Performing Arts Showcase on Saturday. Students are looking forward to the Homecoming Dance and the crowning of the Marlin Majesty. It's sure to be a weekend filled with fun for all!
