Future Marlins and their families visited Virginia Wesleyan on April 13 for the University's second Marlins Day Open House of the spring semester.

The day began with early-bird tours of Wesleyan's beautiful 300-acre campus, followed by registration and a welcome session with remarks from VWU President Scott D. Miller.

"There is so much to say about Virginia Wesleyan," Dr. Miller told guests, "but if I’ve convinced you that it is a place of tremendous possibility, energy and opportunity, then I’ve done my job today. VWU is a special, student-centered university where you will learn many skills, and enjoy lots of new opportunities. We offer an educational experience that will prepare you not just for your first job, but also for the one after that…and for the rest of your life."

Throughout the morning, visitors explored campus, met VWU faculty and staff, and learned about academic offerings, scholarships, and the financial aid process. Special parent, freshman, and transfer break-out sessions were held, and an Academic Department Fair took place in the Jane P. Batten Student Center.

With Spring Alumni Weekend in action on campus, guests also had the opportunity to watch alumni games featuring men's and women's soccer, volleyball, and field hockey, and auditions were held for the VWU Music Department. The day concluded with lunch in Boyd Dining Center.
